CPPJ and the Louisiana Workforce Commission have joined together in an effort to provide book and tuition assistance to those who are accepted into a college but have not yet enrolled or have not yet scheduled their classes. PROPELLER CLUB, PORTS OF SW LOUISIANA
One-time scholarship for up to 5 seniors attending an accredited college, or a maritime related trade school. There are awards ranging from $500 to $2500.
To qualify for consideration of the scholarship, the student must meet the following criteria:
#1 Must have an immediate family member who is employed in the commercial maritime industries, or their employment is a direct result of the maritime industry. Commercial maritime industries would include commercial fishing, tug or barge operations, dredging, dock worker and oil/gas, etc.

#2 They are sponsored by a member of our organization, in good standing.

Iowa High Rabbit Festival Scholarships
Iowa Rabbit Festival Scholarships are available on our website at: Scholarships. They can be returned to our PO Box on the application or to the email on the application.
They are giving 5 - $1000 traditional scholarships as they have in the past.
This year they will also be giving 2 - $1000 Technical School Scholarships. These will be for students attending a technical school and majoring in PTECH, Instrumentation, and/or Electrical. This was made possible through a partnership with one of their sponsors Venture Global LNG.

National Association of University Women Scholarship & Book Stipend
The Lake Charles Branch of the National Association of University Women is accepting applications from high school seniors who wish to apply for our annual $1,500.00 ($750.00 per semester-maximum of two semesters) scholarship. This year we will award $1,500.00 scholarships to two African American female students. In addition to the two scholarships, we will also award two book $500.00 stipends; applicants for the book stipends can be African American males/females. Priority is placed on students with financial needs. The application forms and a flyer with qr codes were emailed to you for your convenience.

AES Engineering Scholarship Criteria
Our belief is that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. For that reason we are offering a scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by an evaluation of the essays that are submitted.
Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary educational facility. You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.

This year the Lake Charles Council will be awarding (2) $500.00 scholarships.
The applicant must have high moral standards, have a 3.0 grade point average or better, must have participated in extracurricular activities, have a low percentage of absences and good conduct. The applicant must reside in Calcasieu Parish.

General Education and Mental Health Scholarship
To raise awareness as to the causes, consequences and treatment of addiction, Seasons in Malibu, a luxury addiction treatment center, is seeking to reward essay applicants $1,500 in scholarships- for students entering college or already enrolled in a higher education institution.
The aim of the scholarship is to bring attention as to why addiction, in various forms, is becoming more prevalent in our society and how can we address the issue of an increasing number of people dealing with addiction.
The scholarship is open to any major who can shed light on this issue. It may be a personal story that you can share or a more researched essay.

US Presidential Scholarship
The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program was established to recognize and honor some of our nation's most distinguished graduating high school students selected on the basis of outstanding scholarship. All high school seniors graduating between January and August 2026, who are U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents and who attend public, parochial, or independent schools, as well as those who are home-schooled, are eligible. School systems can submit, for LDOE consideration, up to two students in the General Component and up to two students in the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Component. The Department can nominate up to 10 males and 10 females AND up to 5 additional students for the CTE recognition component.
This is a recognition program, not a scholarship program. The 2026 U.S. Presidential Scholars will be selected by the Commission on Presidential Scholars and receive the Presidential Scholars Medallion.
In order to recommend students for nomination to the program, school systems are required to submit to the LDOE a parental release form for each nominated student and complete a JotForm application for each student by 5 p.m. January 30, 2026.

FCA Kyle Broussard Scholarship
In order to promote the ideals of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and recognize and encourage Christian leadership among the youth of our community, The Kyle Andrew Broussard FCA Memorial Scholarship is offering TWO $2,000 college scholarships: one for a male and one for a female. The Scholarship will pay $1,000.00 per semester for two semesters.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR CANDIDACY
A committed Christian, whose beliefs are in full agreement with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Statement of Faith (enclosed in the packet); A student whose life exemplifies the ideals of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes; Entering college freshman; An active participant in FCA programs and has played a sport in High School; A good student academically, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale).

Lake Area Scholarship
The Lake Charles Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and The Lake Area Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2023 Scholarship. Four $500 Scholarships will be awarded to the graduating seniors of Calcasieu Parish. Students will complete the application along with writing a 250-word essay on "How would this scholarship be beneficial to you?" The application deadline is April 15, 2023. Recipients will receive their award on Saturday, May 27th at the Lake Area Foundation Black and White Gala.

Lake Charles Alumnae Foundation Scholarship
The Lake Charles Alumnae Foundation awards scholarships based on the following criteria to be reviewed by the Foundation Board: Academic Accomplishments, References, and Personal Essay. Scholarship funds of $1,000.00 are paid directly to the school.

Hagan Scholarship
The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide four-year need-based merit scholarship providing each recipient with the opportunity to graduate from college debt-free, providing up to $6,000 each semester. After graduation from college, Hagan Scholars can apply for a 2-year extension of their scholarship to attend graduate school or a professional school, receiving $6,000 each semester.

Horatio Alger Association
The Horatio Alger Association is excited to announce that we have opened our scholarship application for the 2024 Horatio Alger Scholarship Programs. We would like to invite current high school juniors from your high school who meet eligibility requirements to apply.
In keeping with the educational mission of the Horatio Alger Association, the scholarship programs provide financial assistance to students in the US who have financial need and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. Delta Sigma Theta Scholarship

The EnergyRates.ca College Scholarship is a yearly (ongoing) scholarship by EnergyRates.ca. Every year, we award outstanding students for their essays on the energy industry. We would be glad if you could inform your students of our scholarship by linking our page to your “Scholarships” page. Students from all fields are welcome to apply.
The deadline for the 2023 competition is January 31, 2024 (The deadline is January 31 annually).
