Hope Berry

 

Hope Berry is a master teacher with 20 years experience as an Agriscience teacher at Bell City High School, who entered the counseling role here at Iowa High School in 2021 with a desire to help our students discover their learning styles, guide them to future careers and assist them in their journey of self-discovery and confidence as they navigate these formative years.

As a former career and technical education teacher, she always strives to find her student’s strengths so that they will become valuable contributors to society.  In Johnathon Mooney’s keynote speech at the 2015 Groves Gala, his statements “Differences are not deficiencies” and “every human being has a strength you can find and build a life on”, resonates with her and the way she approaches each student's plaln for graduation and post high school plans.

Hope is certified in Agriscience, General Science, School Counseling and was awarded Calcasieu High School Teacher of the year in 2018-2019, and the Calcasieu High School Counselor of the year in 2025-2026.

Hope holds a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from McNeese, a Master of Science in Human Resource & Workforce Development from LSU, and a Plus 30 in School counseling from Northwestern State University.
